1FaceWatch believe that one person, literally, can change the world. By supporting nine causes: cancer, hunger, breast cancer, clean water, disaster relief, environment, AIDS, education, and animal rights, and partnering with different charities to bring global change, over 840,000 lives have been changed so far.
Leadership Styled got the chance to ask Ralphie Lega, Vice President of 1face, more about the story behind this amazing campaign.
LS: What do you nail in leadership?
1FW: Leadership, is about inspiring others to achieve their best self. I think leadership is not something you do, it’s something that you are. Unselfishly aiming to highlight one’s skill set and giving them the vehicle to be successful.
LS: What do you value the most?
1FW: I value sincerity most. It is the most important factor in developing and maintaining relationships; personal and business.
LS: What gets you through the day?
1FW: Knowing that I am someone else’s support system and that they rely on me to be best me possible and that I can depend on them to do the same for me.
LS: Best person you have ever worked with and why?
1FW: When I was a teacher, the best person I ever worked with was Erika Morrelly. She was a guiding light, not only professionally but her personal life was shone through in her attitude and perspective.
LS: What gives you courage?
1FW: The thought that people fought for me to have the freedoms and opportunities that are presented to me on a daily basis.
LS: How do you motivate and inspire people?
1FW: Giving them the courage to reflect on themselves and their progress, regardless of how minuscule. It allows them to see what others see even if they do not.
LS: What is your greatest frustration?
1FW: Not being able to have the impact that you envisioned.
LS: What brings out your dark side?
1FW: Inconsistency and dishonesty.
LS: What are you certain about?
1FW: That I was placed in this world to be here for others and to give others the power that they dream of.
LS: What is your go to pair of shoes/ luck pants / fave phone\ song when you have an important meeting or you have to present- could you send us a picture of them please?
LS: Most embarrassing leadership moment (that still brings you out in a sweat?)
1FW: One of the most embarrassing leadership moments was when I was working for a NGO in college and I was running the blog/website and during a presentation, I mistakenly deleted the entire code and content from our website in front of 170 college students, that I was trying to recruit to join the organisation.
LS: How do you create balance?
1FW: Maintaining relationships with friends and going out of my way to meet people from different fields and disciplines.
LS: What is your greatest fear ?
LS: How do you stay calm?
1FW: Writing narratives and rapping with my best friends.
LS: What do you dream about?
1FW: I dream of one day having a wife and children that will look to me as their leader that trusts me to lead them through thick and thin.
LS: Would you employ you?
LS: How do you keep fit for business?
1FW: I have a vision that everyone can benefit while bringing different positive aspects to any organisations.
LS: What is taking up your thinking space right now ?
1FW: My commute to and from work.
LS: Favourite book on leadership?
1FW: Where the Wild Things Are
LS: How would others describe your style of leadership in 3 words?
1FW: Compassionate, deliberate and comical.
LS: What is the difference between being in a business and owning a business?
1FW: One is a job description and the other is lifestyle. One reaps benefits the other provides benefits.
